About this deal

It will be Whyte's first world title opportunity after a long and frustrating wait, while it will be Fury's UK homecoming after emerging unbeaten through a riveting trilogy against Deontay Wilder. Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte will fight at Wembley Stadium on April 23 for the WBC heavyweight championship. It's an incredible story about his whole career where he started, how he started and who was there for him throughout. It also gives us an insight to his personal life with wife Paris (who I also love) and the heart break of miscarriages and marriage troubles. And most importantly about his depression and how he's come out the other end. With that being established, the 33-year-old has a book coming out that is expected to discuss his entire career. This will be the third book that Fury has published, having released two prior books called 'Behind the Mask' and 'The Furious Method'. Like all the greatest stories, though, there is redemption and Tyson defies all the odds and literally drags himself to his feet. 10 million people around the globe watched Fury fight Wilder in the biggest fight of the boxing calendar. Speaking candidly about his struggles with mental health, this is Tyson Fury as you have never seen him before.

He survived addiction and a suicide attempt to return to victory in the ring. Now the philosopher-fighter considers the “void” after boxing. Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte to fight at Wembley Stadium on April 23 for WBC heavyweight championshipThis was a very interesting read, I've never been a big fan of him just from seeing his fights but I can see now I've judged him quite unfairly. There is alot more to him that it seems. The front he puts out to the public is not the real man underneath. He is so open and honest about his mental illnesses and how he has had to deal with them. Some very sad parts to read about too. The fact this man openly speaks about his mental health troubles amidst the nature of his upbringing and line of work is inspiring. Fury won both The Ring and the WBC heavyweight titles in his second of three fights against Deontay Wilder in February 2020. He then retained the belts in the trilogy bout that took place nine months later. As with all Tyson Fury boxing bouts, the fight will be broadcast live on BT Sport Box Office this April.

Anthony Joshua, a long-standing target of Fury, is scheduled to fight Alexander Usyk on September 25 in a rematch after the Ukranian beat the former heavyweight champion on points at the London Stadium, last year. In the days after the second instalment of their rivalry, Fury will be in Glasgow on September 30. Save CITY NETWORKING LUNCH IN LEADENHALL to your collection. Share CITY NETWORKING LUNCH IN LEADENHALL with your friends. It’s hard to believe that a man who is so confident, outspoken and above all else the lineal heavyweight champion of the world could be brought to his knees by depression. This Biography my the man himself just shows that no matter who you are mental health issues and depression should never be taken likely and makes you aware that even warriors like Tyson Fury are not invincible. Gloves Off is not a case of bare-fisted self-exposure, but instead a carefully edited version of events. There is no mention, for example, of Daniel Kinahan, the alleged Irish gangster based in Dubai, whom Fury publicly thanked in 2020 for his work as a boxing promoter. And when Fury refers to his father being sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2011 (he served four), he merely says that it was “for getting involved in a fight”, which makes it sound like a spot of fisticuffs. In fact, John Fury gouged a man’s eye out, leaving him half-blind.

He goes on to Tyson's family life, his beliefs, his failures, his successes, and his will to keep in fighting. The best and most used manifestation of this is his seeming return from the dead raise in the 12th round against arguably the hardest hitter currently in the heavyweight division.

This book not only shares his childhood, upbringing, amateur boxing, professional career and behind the scenes that we don't see. Past few months for me were a little tough both from the personal and professional angle and I was feeling the brunt of the same. I wasn't sure whether what I was going through was a phase of melancholy or full fledged depression but whatever it was, I knew it was eating me alive and I needed to think of ways to move on from this feeling and be cheerful again. The fights – however dangerous – are the fun bit for Fury, offering rare absorption and a chance to show off preternatural gifts, a place of calm for a man who can’t be idle. He is learning how to live without the sport which has defined him. “When I leave there’s bound to be a void,” he writes, referring to the fighters who’ll be left when he bows out, with “not a personality between them”. But he might say the same of his life post-boxing, too. A scholar of the game, he knows quitting may prove his toughest challenge of all.
