About this deal

Dispense an appropriate amount: Take a small amount of the cleansing oil (usually about a pump or two) into the palm of your hand. The amount may vary depending on the brand and the consistency of the oil. SoftyMo Deep Cleansing Oil is one of 3 oil cleansers from Kose. This is one of my personal favorites, though I prefer the “ white ” version below. (Before you come at me for promoting “white beauty standards,” please see my post on Japanese whitening cosmetics for more information as there’s a lot to cover on that topic!)

When it comes to cleansers, the term "oil" might be off-putting or conjure visions of clogged pores and rampant breakouts. The truth is, though, "every skin type can benefit from cleansing oils — even oily," says pro makeup artist Tati Westbrook. It may sound counterintuitive, but this facial cleanser type combines with the oils on your skin and in your makeup, breaking them down so they're actually easier to remove, says cosmetic chemist Perry Romanowski. Emulsifies well: The oil emulsifies easily with water, allowing for easy rinsing without leaving a greasy residue on the skin. The product has the Speedy Melting Formula that lefts away makeup easily including waterproof mascara, and removes dead skin cells. The rich-texture oil contains 5 luxurious beauty oils that leave the skin smooth and moisturized and also help to achieve brighter skin complexion by removing hyperpigmentation to cause skin dullness. The gentle formula oil is paraben and alcohol-free and tester for allergy and non-comedogenic. It can be used on wet hands and over eyelash extension, and does not require double cleansing.Pat dry and continue with your skincare routine: After rinsing off the cleansing oil, gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. You can then proceed with the rest of your skincare routine, such as applying toner, serum, moisturizer, or any other products you typically use. If you’re familiar with Japanese skincare, then you’ve definitely heard of cleansing oil before. The concept of cleansing oil may sound a bit strange, especially for those with oily skin, because doesn’t applying oil to oily skin just make the skin even more…oily? Well, no. In this article, we’ll explain what exactly cleansing oil is, how to use it, and recommend our 15 favorite cleansing oils from Japan that you can try. What Is Cleansing Oil? Oil-based cleansers are the best products to use when trying to get rid of stubborn makeup. Cleansing oils are actually one of the most popular methods of cleansing in the Japanese skincare routine because of their ability to break down make-up whilst still moisturizing your skin. Those with severe acne or active breakouts should approach oil cleansing with care, as certain oils can potentially worsen congestion. Individuals with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea should consult a dermatologist before incorporating oil cleansing, as some oils could trigger irritation.

Hydrating properties: The Shiseido Tiss Deep-Off Face Cleansing Oil helps to hydrate and nourish the skin, leaving it moisturized and soft. This popular drugstore brand of oil cleanser is part of a line of moisturizing skincare by Hada Labo, including the Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid infusion oil cleansing. Makeup Removal Efficiency: If you wear heavy makeup or waterproof products, prioritize cleansing oils explicitly designed for thorough makeup removal. Non-stripping: It effectively cleanses the skin without stripping away its natural oils, helping to maintain the skin’s moisture barrier. This foaming cleanser contains ceramide which keeps the face moist. It also contains anti-inflammatory agents to prevent skin irritation. Japanese cleansing oils also often include other skin-friendly ingredients like hyaluronic acid , vitamin E, and jojoba oil to moisturize the skin and improve its texture. Why Should I Use Cleansing Oil? At first glance, SoftyMo Speedy Cleansing Oil looks similar to Biore Make-up Remover Perfect Oil. Both can be used in the bath/shower. But, SoftyMo Speedy Cleansing Oil isn’t as tough on waterproof mascara and eyeliners. However, it does not have a fruity scent, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin. It’s also safe to use with eyelash extensions. Here are some common mineral oils. If you see one of these ingredients at the top of the list then you can safely say that it’s an Mineral oil-based cleansing oil:

Starting with a dry face also eliminates any water barrier that might dilute the cleansing oil or interfere with its ability to effectively remove makeup and impurities. Follow with a second cleanser (optional): Some individuals prefer to follow up with a second cleanser, such as a gentle foaming cleanser or a gel cleanser, to ensure a thorough cleanse. The oil also effectively removed dirt and impurities from my skin, leaving my face feeling clean and refreshed. In Japan, the typical skincare routine consists of a double cleansing process to be sure to remove all impurities from the skin and we recommend pairing a makeup remover with an additional cleanser for maximum results. You should use cleansing oil if you want to kill two birds with one stone! Cleansing oil is a fast, easy, and effective way to remove makeup from your skin without having to use wipes or cotton pads, making it a bit more eco-friendly than other makeup remover alternatives. When you use cleansing oil, you’re also cleansing your skin and preparing it for your skincare routine at the same time. How To Use Cleansing Oil? Although the Japanese likely practiced double cleansing first, Korea helped to popularize it as it became the first step of the multi-step K-beauty routine. However, we still feel that the Japanese oil-based cleansers have some advantages over their counterparts. They have been developed over the course of centuries (for example, Shiseido was founded in 1872) and they are relatively inexpensive. Some of them are meant to be a part of a double-cleansing routine while others can be used by themselves.
