About this deal

The light has an IPX4 rating for weatherproofing, which means it's splashproof; you could put a sliver of silicone grease on the charge port cover and battery compartment if you wanted, but I've had no issues even in torrential rain. VLS This unit's run times all matched the claims, even in the recent cold weather. At three hours on the 700 lumen setting, you can get in some decent miles after work, though the 1000 lumens might be needed in darker lanes. A further Variable Lumen System (VLS) mode – where the light’s output can be defined on a dimming and brightening scale – is also accessible. The remote’s Velcro strap also attached it securely, meaning I could easily change modes on the move, although I spent most of my time in mode 1 (2,100 lumens) or Boost (2,600 lumens). With 327 products available we worked out that 193 cost more than Moon Vortex Pro Front Light and 132 were cheaper. Cost of Moon products

You also get a wired remote control which connects to the light via the USB-C charging port. I've found that being able to change modes while keeping your hands on the hoods makes life a lot easier. I use the Ravemen PR1600 on my winter road bike, and being able to switch between dipped/high beam easily when interacting with oncoming traffic is great. It's not perfect for road use where a wider, flatter beam is better to reduce the chances of dazzling oncoming traffic, but angled down I didn't seem to irritate anyone while still getting the light shining up the road. You need to have a bit of common sense and courtesy with the lumen output too. The light itself is pretty robust. The front half of the body is made from aluminium, which easily resists being dropped onto the road without issue. I would like to see a better warranty though: one year for workmanship or material defects and a mere 120 days for the battery doesn't seem long enough to me.There is a charging indicator to show when the light is full, and when in use the three bars drop to two at 65% capacity, one bar at 30% capacity and then a single, flashing bar at 10%. The memory function saves faff, although changing modes mid-ride is simplest with the included wired remote. Tidy folks could run the wire beneath their bar tape. Mounts Meanwhile, if you want to spend less, it's very likely there'll be some compromises, in either output or quality. Overall I was a little sceptical of the 120-lumen default setting – yes, it's good enough for shared use town paths perhaps, and useful for reading road signs, rummaging in panniers and tending to a mechanical, but around town I felt more comfortable with the 200-lumen Steady Flash.

It uses a single Cree XM-L2 LED and what looks to be a simple lens and round concave reflector to deploy the light in a very torch-like way: a central spot which Moon claims has an angle of 17 degrees before fading out to 80 degrees. You press and hold the button for a few seconds to swap from steady to flash, and then you have another four flashing modes plus an SOS setting. In addition to the 1000 lumen Boost mode, there are two more steady modes – 700 lumens and 100 lumens – plus three flashing, one of which is a daylight flash. There's also an SOS mode, which is designated for emergencies only.If the option for Financing or one or more of the monthly terms are not shown, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for that finance type at this time. Pay in 3 instalments Price, as you would imagine, is the most popular reason for someone buying one product over another. It is the single most important factor in choosing the majority of products we buy. The same goes for Lights.
